No, it was the hose clamp that goes on the rubber neck that goes between the tank to the filler neck. It has never had a hose clamp on it ever. Would leak when I hit the brakes & fuel sloshed out due to no seal. It has been a long time, but I recall wondering why there wasn't anything sealing that better way back in this thread. It was before I was good at looking into & understanding the parts TM. I thought it just pressed on & it sealed like that.Was the leak from the return line coming off the hose barb? I just had to fix mine. It didn't have a hose clamp on it which allowed it to pop right off. Has one now and no more leak.
Where you're talking about never has a clamp on it. Usually, the line fits tight & seals. If it isn't, your line is getting ready to start leaking all over, is the incorrect ID, or is stretched. A hose clamp will work to keep it on as well but the return lines don't require them. I always recommend a zip tie.
