Howdy,

If you would go back and read the first post, and then read and quick link to the topics in the 2nd post, you would have a great understanding of where to start.

Get your manuals
Understand why the fuse mod is something to do before turning it over
types of batteries
filters needing to be changed and part #
relay information
switch information
fuel pumps

and so much more.

Here's another spare part I found that works well.
If you have a cracked, missing or broken coolant overflow bottle on an 802/803 the overflow bottle from an 86' - 95' Suzuki Samurai fits perfectly, you just have to change the drain hose routing a little because the bottle is a top feed/dip tube style rather than the bottom feed with overflow tube as original. About $30 from the on-line big auction joint or as cheap as $18 if you have time to wait for it to ship from Thailand!

Been beating the TMs real good for about an hour looking for an answer to this question:
What are the part numbers, or replacements (viton o-rings, NAPA parts, etc) for the GASKETS for the fuel filter cartridge housing?
In the engine manual ARMY TM 9-2815-253-24, page 3-26, there‘s a blow-up of the filter unit, and the instructions basically say replace the gaskets - all number 3. One might assume this all SHOULD come with the filter. I don‘t assume.

With what?
Unit is Lister Petter Fuel Filter Assy 284359 but their site isn‘t any better at figuring this one out.

Of course, I could - did - use the google-powered forum search engine for this site and am, as usual, getting nowhere with it.

Should be a simple answer, easily found, right there in the engine manual, or operator manual, or lube order
.

Throw me a bone, someone.

I reassembled mine after changing the cartridge, put a new water separator filter on, bled the air out, engine fired right up.

I used/reused gaskets as I couldn‘t find anything to the contrary. DID use new gasket for bowl-housing that came with the filter element and a viton o-ring at the bottom. Engine runs GREAT, but the water separator is peeing fuel and I think maybe the secondary filter is too.

Spent about two hours pulling batteries, hauling genset out onto driveway from garage where I‘ve been working on it (pain, SS screws, bolts, soundproofing, cleaning out the fuel tank), and with some judicious use of degreaser and a garden hose was able to wash out all the fuel that sprayed all over.

Did learn that, like the time a pilot threw a match into a bucket full of JP-5 once just to show me how NONflammable the stuff was, #2 ULSD isn‘t that flammable either apparently. But I already knew that from all the leaking that was coming from the injector return lines I replaced first day I had the set.

So help?

Thanks.

Howdy,

water/fuel separator spin-on filter... did you make sure the old gasket was off? I found some were put on dry by king kong. Hence, the gasket stayed in place. I also had 1 unit which had the smaller bleeder valve on the top of the spin-on piece which was leaking. Can't see it, and even with the top off, can't work on it, I took the whole spin-on assembly out to fix it up.

always use some oil on the gaskets when installing too.

cartridge filter... make sure the cup is up into the little recess all the way around, even a little dab of grease to hold the little gasket in place while you put the cup assembly up.

The whole cartridge filter cup assembly is also readily available from the UK.

Lister 68489 can be found easily. The basic Lister-Petter engine has been around a long time.

Others have said you could get a WIX 15398 gasket pack, NSN 5330-01-584-5131

I have used the WIX 15398 on several that were missing or had rotted gaskets. It does work

Balwin and fram cartrage filters come with all the needed gaskets. I dont believe wix/napa come with the gaskets.

When you put any of the filters back on put a coating of grease on the O ring/gaskets. They will come off alot easier.

Here's a few more PN's incase anyone is missing parts for your air filter housing. I was missing an end cap and best I could find was a used housing assembly for $100+ after a little research I found the housings and parts from Donaldson are still available new on Amazon, Ebay and the internet in general.

Donaldson housing assy complete is a FWG054-2619 ( 88-21062 )
Donaldson End cap is P103007 available for about $35
Donaldson rubber baffle that goes in the cap. P102523 about $15
Donaldson band clamp P002904 about $13
