I assume you are not going to be using the generator in parallel with another generator.

I also assume you NEED this generator putting out power now due to no utility power.

If so, you might try the following.
Mark the present setting of the Load Sharing Adjust.
Loosen the locknut on the Load Sharing Adjust potentiometer and adjust it 90 degrees clockwise and try the generator.
If it's still throwing Reverse power fault then turn in 180 degrees counter clockwise. (90 degrees counter clockwise from its original setting)
Try the generator again.

If it's still throwing the Reverse Power fault put the Load Sharing Adjust back to it's original position and tighten the lock nut.

Post up your results.

If the test Kurt suggested doesn't change anything, try this, and @kloppk , take a look see that I am right, because I am not at my home computer. BUT, I seem to remember, this fault. I pulled out the reverse power relay, (K9) and then turned the S1 to the run position. We had the same problem and I pulled it out and the light stayed on. It was the A2, (fault indicator.)

To see if it's a faulty Fault Indicator A2 you could disconnect the wire going to K9 terminal 6 and isolate it. Wire number 208A.
That wire is the Reverse Power fault trigger from K9 to the Fault Monitor. If you disconnect the wire and the Reverse Power Fault still appears then the Fault Monitor itself is bad.
