Hi,

My 805B 30KW is finally starting but my field will not flash. After troubleshooting I found my exciter stator and rotor windings have separated. It looks as if they were stuck together because of water or frozen water and somebody tried to start the generator and boom they came apart. The main stator and rotor check out fine.

I know how to replace the bearing and the exciter stator. How do I remove the exciter rotor?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Jim

Jim,

Look at page, (PDF reader) 116 of TM 9-6115-671-24P. Getting at the exciter rotor is not hard. Easier then with a 803A for sure! Then look at page, (PDF) 122 for an even better breakdown.

That's awesome. I see how it comes apart now. Now to find the parts I need to resurrect this generator.

Thanks!!
