I have a few old Mep 816 b's. I have been told The reason I have no AC voltage is because I ordered AVR 400s and the part that I need is a older version more analog AVR 400 and I was wondering if anyone knew how to upgrade generator alternators to be compatible with the new AVR 400s so I can produce voltage on these MEP-816 problems. Or even the proper troubleshooting process for when you have no voltage AC.

You have a use for 400 hertz gen sets?

What makes you think you need to upgrade the Main Gen, to use a newer AVR? That makes no sense. If you really need 400 hertz power, then I will take a look see at AVR's, and try and find a substitution.

For troubleshooting, look here: https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/manuals-for-the-mep-806b.173099/
Thx for the info, yes sir I do lol. Another Tech told me that the reason i wasn't getting any AC power was because i have an older AVR that is no longer in circulation and the new AVR's only are compatible with the new alternators. i wasn't familiar with these older Mep's so that was what i was trying to get clarity on.

I have never heard anything like that before. I think something is a bit strange about it.
1. How many sets do you have?
2.What part number is on the AVR?
3. Do all the sets have that same AVR?
4. When was the last time the sets were started?
5. Have you tried to start them all?
6. Fully charged batteries are a MUST for the B models, are you charging batteries BEFORE trying to start the set?
7. You say they run but no output. From where are you getting your AC volt readings? The screen or from the output terminals?
8. Have you read the operators TM?
