Is this what you see:
1.You hold the start switch
2.The engines starts
3.You continue to hold the switch until you see voltage, frequency, oil pressure on the gauges
4.You let go of the start switch
5. the DC circuit breaker trips?

Or does it trip prior to seeing the voltage and oil pressure?

I've had this happen(on an MEP-002) when a fuel pump went bad and was causing a short.

Real easy to unplug them and try again, just to eliminate that.

One thing to consider is that perhaps the DC breaker is defective! One test would be to put a DVOM (in current mode) on the breaker and see what the current is when it trips. I've seen this happen in the past where breakers start tripping at lower currents than they are supposed to trip at.
