MEP806b tips and tricks

Got this mep806b and I’m wondering if y’all know any tips and tricks specific to this unit. Are there any components I should upgrade or change?

Depends on what you want to do. There is a forum member that dumbed down his gen set. Ripped out the "smart" stuff and put simple, reliable stuff back in. I will see if I can drum him up into jumping in here. The set, when it runs right, runs well. Its just when things start to go wrong, that you have problems. Parts are scare. And costly. The main gen and engine are killers. Rock solid equipment, good for the rest of your life. Its the controls and "high tech" crap that let you down.

It would offend the preservationists, but it was purchased as backup power, not historical preservation. With a lot of help from forum members, I think that's what we have now. Questions cheerfully answered.
