middle ga 5ton rescue help

Ok, i went and spoke with a lady today who has a 5 ton and a 5 ton wrecker, the wrecker is rough it has a ton of rust. I did finf that is had a brand new reman ld-465-1 in it non turbo, i didnt hink this unit belonged in that truck.

The other 5 ton has a gasser inline 6, its very large and im not sure what it is.
I will provide pictures. She has had several ppl bugging her about scrapping these trucks! I don't want this to happen and I have no way to haul them off to my place. So, I am putting the pics up here in hope someone will take an intrest in them, she is willing to take low prices for them im thinking 400 for the gasser, as for the wrecker i dotn know whats good except for the engine! The gas engine is a Continental 6602

One of them has a trailer hand valve indicating that it was a tractor.

As for HP/torque...that 6602 gasser will drag almost anything you can hook it to...if ya can feed her the gas!

I am very interested, but they are nearly 100 miles from me.
Could you maybe get a few pics of the wrecker?

No matter how rusty a wrecker is, if it runs and lifts, it should be saved at least as a yard truck.

I didnt think to ask her about the titles. I told her you would probably call.
I think the wrecker may have some sort of homemade crane on it but the motor is new. Also I found out today the blue one actually runs and moves. It just needs batteries. It was started and moved sometime this year.
Oh and the wrecker moved before it was parked it has sat for a couple years, i did notice it has a regular civy alt on it!

I think it could be possible the the wrecker is actually a tractor that the guy had made some stuff on before he passed.

Yeah, that wasn't a military wrecker. I had my hopes up. I'd make a lowball offer on the two, yank the multi out of the wrecker and piece together one truck.

I hate to see any MV scrapped, but I have a good M52 (tractor) and the "wrecker" ain't.

I would be willing to bed she would let ya get the engine for nothing sense they will be scraped anyway!

Please don't be offended by my post. I salute you...and her for trying to save those trucks.

Were it not so expensive for transport costs I would be happy to pay her above scrap value just to have the parts available.

I just can't make it work for me economically.
