MKT Kitchen trailer BII items

Does anyone have pictures or a list of all the BII items that are supposed to go with the MKT kitchen trailer? I cruise Colemans junkyard a lot, and if I see something that goes to it, I want to pick it up.

Pictures would be great, all laid out, of everything that goes in the trailer.....

Image 1, item 2 - I have four, brand new in the crate, complete with all pots, pans, knives, etc.
Image 10 - screens (mainly) I have a bunch, mostly in tan from a GL lot at W-R AFB.
Image 14, item 60, I have about 15, brand new in the box, from a GL lot in French Camp, CA.
There is still a bunch of stuff I'd like to have, including the vinyl repair kit, but my MKT has already fed a large group four meals without a hitch.
Oh, about image 19, those should be issued one per meal to the cooks (and I'm talking about the square 'thingy', not the little round glass one).

Item 60 is the condiment tray, fits on a corner post. $10, postpaid till I run out. PM for details. I'll stay on the lookout for roof jacks, but S&H to Canada will be expensive. We may need to activate the SS underground railroad and get it to northern NY state, then get you to make a day trip over the border.

Spent the day going through my three new MKT's. Lots of stuff missing (roof jacks, ovens, tables, beverage containers, ect). It appears that all of the burners connections are present, and two of the three had generators. I have one set of roof jacks for three trailers.

Looks like we will try and build one for catering (six vent), and only need some issue items (for the girlfriend). The second one (twelve vent) I will be putting back together to mil spec. The third one (twelve vent) will either be for parts or parted out, we have not decided yet.

I was an instructor on the MKT 75! For some odd reason we only recieved one set of jacks for every 3 trailers. One thing to carefully check is the leveling jacks. The pin that goes through the gear is very weak. You can only jack up the leveling jack until it is level. DO NOT PUT TOO MUCH PRESSURE ON THE LEVELING JACKS! They break very easily. You may want to jury rig and replace the aluminum pin with steel. The military wanted the aluminum so the would not totally destroy the gear! The trailer came with 2 complete M 1959 Field ranges, and 4 seperate M-2 burner units. There were 2 cambro coffee dispensers, and there was one coffee maker with the coffee bag. There was a pancake dospenser, a full set of military tools, with a tool bag. 5 step units were included one for each end of the side ramps, and an extra one for the cooks to use. The cabinets included a dry sink, a long cabinet/work table, and another that included the 4 extras fire units. This had a double sided teflon grill also. This frame was about 12-15 inches High. I had totally forgotten the condiment rack, we never used it! If you have the M 1959's and the M-2 burners, I still remeber how to repair the entire thing! The runners on the stoves were a headache for the cooks. They tended to rust. Even though the TM called for them to be oiled the cooks used anti-seize compound on them. The Anti-seize compound burnt and created a hard black coating. The burner needs to have a slot cleaner to run through the slots to keep them opened! The generator used 2.2 pounds of steel wool. In Nam the cooks and maintenance cut them opened and repacked them the welded them shut again. If you need anything or any help on the restoration give a holler!

Do you know anyone interested in the M-2 burners. I know where there are 12-15 of them and spare parts near me. Owner wants them converted to cash. Several people here on the forum have converted them to propane, which IMHO is the highest use they should be put to (other than as a static display).

I agree about the pin on the leveling jacks. The replacement is a mild steel roll pin, but the secret is to center it on the shaft so that both sides are taking the thrust. Too many were driven almost all the way through and only had support on one side of the center shaft.

When the TM's become available again in the resources section, you will find the full TM 10-7360-206-13 and -23P. If you don't want to wait, I have them (and a whole lot more) on the MKT Thumb Drive, which includes the full 2003 version of TM 10-412.

Since you are in Columbia, you might want to check to see if the Cooking School there at Ft. Jackson has the canvas in the field training area. The field training area was out by the lakes where the military members went fishing. There was one building there, and the school had a brick storage building right behind the cooking school building. The school had 1 trailer, 1 kitchen tent, and 2 GP medium tents. One GP medium was used for the bake shop, and one was used for the females.

I really do not know anyone interested in the burners, but as a gasoline burner they were dangerous. I really do not understand how you converted them, but good job. I suggested the Red Cross use them for disasters. By using the pot frame you can cook instant soups, and coffee for thousands of people with little resources. With the complete MKT-75's when you back 2 together, you can cook for an entire battalion, or you can set up a disaster feeding area.

I know of five MKT's in private hands in the Columbia, SC area. Mine, Dave's, Mitch's, Ferro's, and the club's. Most of ours are the -85 or -90 models, some upgraded to the MKT-I standard (MKT-99 Improved). Until Chris went to Roswell, there was a sixth one here. There's three more that I know of in the state and a dozen or more in the rest of the southeast. Ferro's is in the poorest shape right now, but that will be changing shortly. I hope to start conversion of another to an FSC (FST actually) before summer.

If you look on flickr.com, searching for MKT-85, you will find a picture of two MKT's back to back, serving food at Ft. Jackson during Armed Forces Day in 2009 (mine and Dave's). I have mine for disaster feeding - see the thread "A different kind of M109 conversion" for the results.

My deuce pulled an MKT for the 730th ASMC before it went to GL. They kept the tech manual in the cab with the deuce TM and lube order. I'm in Columbia right now for work.

If you need parts ask I have a lot of spare parts including the interior canopy, poles etc.
