Does anyone have any information on Material Maintenance Division (MMD) out of Ft. Bragg?
I have done the general google searches already.

My 2 man tan HMMWV that I recently won from Ft. Bragg has a 6.2 engine with a MMD sticker on it. The odometer also is showing 4,420 miles. I normally would not take that as an accurate reading at all, but after reading about the MMD and what all they do...I'm leaning towards thinking that my truck was reset there.
It does have a few upgrade such as the 12 bolt rims and high back seats.

Anyone with knowledge of this group? I would like to contact them to see what the records are on it.

Thanks,
Corey

There's 2 MMDs on Bragg. MMD South was destroyed by a Tornado in 2011 but is back to fully operational. MMD occupies the "Depot" level maintenance in the old maintenance scheme. They don't tear down quite as far as red stone, which would go all the way down to the frame. MMD will do significant overhaul, engine reset, and all MWOs/available upgrades.

I had a 22.5T crane there for a few months when I became a BN Maint Officer. Took a lot of personal attention and correspondence with the mechanic assigned to it to get the right part. Finally came up after over 6 months NMC due to a hydraulic control box.

That's sort of what I was thinking. Just in reading what google had to offer it seemed like they did a lot of what redstone would do. Apparently they changed the way they run the shops back around 2009 to be more like 6 sigma. I'm going to try and contact them today and see if I can find out what all was done to my truck when it was there.

Ok, just a quick update.
I've called MMD at Bragg and they do not keep that information. They can, if it has been through there shop in the past year, see when it went through and man hours spent on it.
What they told me is that all of that information goes back to the customer.
They did tell me that since it has a MMD sticker on the engine then it was rebuilt quite some time ago, possibly before OEF/OIF. They no longer rebuild engines at that site. Just replace them. But that they were doing 30 a month in rebuilds back several years ago.
I spoke with a gentleman who used to be the CW-2 over the engine rebuild program in 1996. He still works there, but now as a DA civilian.
He said that when trucks come through now they just replace the engine, if it needs it, with a 6.5 (which we already is common practice) and for suspension issues that they go ahead and put the suspension components from a M1097 on it.
