The Southern Nevada Military Vehicle Association (SNMVA.com) was contacted almost at the last minute & asked to provide some military vehicles for the Pit Party display at the recent MonsterJam World Finals XVI (Sam Boyd Stadium, Las Vegas, NV; March 25-28, 2015). 108 monster trucks and their drivers/crews were on display in the Pit Party display area, on the north side of Sam Boyd Stadium. One of the SNMVA members is Richard "Dick" Dielmann, owner of DIELCO Crane Service, and also the proud owner of a complete M1070 HET & M1000 trailer setup. Dick frequently loans the M1070 to the SNMVA for parades & shows, but this is the first time the M1000 trailer made an appearance at an event.

The owners of the new Soldier Fortune monster truck (driven by Chad Fortune, former NFL player, and also formerly the driver of the Captain America monster truck before Marvel withdrew their participation) asked if their truck could be parked on the M1000 trailer, which was happily obliged. The display drew steady crowds & positive comments throughout the beginning of the event, so the organizers asked if our Chapter would be willing to join the monster truck parade on Saturday, March 28, and also provide space to seat some wounded warriors & their families during the parade. The parade featured nearly 100 monster trucks around the pit area, and the SNMVA proudly drove their vehicles & wounded warriors in the middle of the parade group.

It was a great success all the way around & the SNMVA was asked to come back next year, especially with the HET combination; the organizers were provided with contact information via the MVPA Chapter listings, so for some of you MVPA Chapter members expect to be contacted near the end of the year if a MonsterJam event will be held near you.

Hope you enjoy the photos (taken with my iPotato).

Wow, looks like you guys really turned it on. Good work. Funny, the monster truck doesn't seem very monstrous.

Very cool.

Is it strange that I would rather have the MV than the monster truck?
LOL, on here one would hope so! :)

The Soldier Fortune crew & owners wanted to salute all current-serving & former members of the Armed Forces...at each event they would like to honor all of these folks, so we made sure to pass along MVPA Chapter contact information to them, for future events. There were several other monster truck drivers who were saluting the wounded warriors we were transporting, it was all quite touching.
