Muffler info wanted

The muffler specified for the xm757 5-ton truck is a Donaldson MKA08 5072 E8, is there a way to find out more about this muffler, I have tried googling it but nothing comes up and a search of Donaldson catalogs produces nothing so far....

Part of the problem with the part number could be the fact that it's offset, I suppose to clear the cab proper (space). Also, it's 30 plus years old.

I think the mufflers start on pg 95. Maybe the style 88Q will work. The ends are the slip/clamp type, but, somewhere in that catalog, there are the flanges like are used on the multi exhaust that can be welded onto the muffler so the original clamps can be used.

No, not as far as I know, but now you got me concerned, how do I test it?

Just look to see if there are any holes in the bottom of it that aren't supposed to be there. There might be a small hole in it from the factory for drainage.
