Yeah I'd say start with rocker covers off and see what your dealing with them go from there. If you're feeling ambitious you could pull more but start there and see what you can get moving freely that way... Just start : )

It's funny how imaging the future (and its uncertainty) is sometimes the scariest part of doing anything
(and getting a project started).

My dad was a Forward Observer of artillery in WWII. He saw plenty (in combat), over the course of the war.

But I recall he told me once that the most difficult time he had of that whole war was the night that his convoy anchored off of Le Havre, Before disembarking for action the first thing the next morning.

It was a few days after D-Day and the allies were still working on breaking out. He said all him and his buddies could do was watch and wait:

- the sky on the horizon was lit with constant shelling and the thunder of big guns

They had nothing to do but imagine what they were headed into.

He said that was the hardest part for him, of the whold damn war.

He said "zero-dark thirty: the next morning they were all so busy getting underway and all that all those mortal jitters just totally dissolved.

They had work to do. And they got it done.

Talked with my. Friends over at white owl surplus today. And they had a civilian equivalent part number back in the day of CA0280 found this website that might have it I want to know what you guys think??? Says it's a Ford push 12 inch push type

Update: just Measured the pressure plate that came off that engine and its 12 inches across on on the plate. Going to measure bolt holes and talk to the guy tomorrow see if the one they have will work out... but I think we have a winner I will keep you updated. I also dropped off the flywheel to get re-machinedk

What pressure plate did you end up using? I have a replacement disc but cant source the pressure plate for my M35 gasser. Hopefully you are still getting notifications for the thread.

CA-0280 From that website I used.. and it works fine.. till this day.

Ugh well it's official sports fans my engine is sick. I've had time between jobs to work on the truck so let's jump into it. Now keep in mind it's been about 3 years since this truck ran after the bent push rods.

It all boils down to a combination of ignorant so called friends that think they know best ,running to rich because said Friends decided to mess with the carb, and not starting because of fouling and bad old gas ,,useing starter fluid resulting in damage to engine with bent push rod.

Few days ago I removed the spark plugs to get my bore scope camera into each cylinder. 1 looked ok, 2 looked ok. Where is starts getting fked is cylinder 4, 5, 6.

So I removed the head and found alot of issues on the head.

Checked the cylinders and piston heads found alot of carbon build up and junk. So spent a day cleaning and between 4,5, 6 I found 4 small chunks of metalchunks of metal
Cylinder 6 after cleaning. Cylinder walls look like stuck rings? Or just carbon scratch?

Took the head to a shop to be cleaned and looking nice.

Wow. Cylinder 6 is pretty well scuffed up. I can't help but imagine that the rings are going to be scratched and causing leak back if you ran a compression test. Several of those cylinders look to me like they haven't been firing for several hours (days, weeks?).

Truck hasn't ran in 2 1/2 years because my job requires me to travel. I stopped all work on it after the push rod issues.

Pulled the Radiator to see if the engine is stuck and my luck is not that good yes the motor is stuck. So I put atf on every cylinder to soke in. And I'm gonna drop the pan tomorrow.

Update 5/6/24

Engine would not turn over.. so I removed the oil pan to give a look. everything looked ok so we are thinking stuck rings. So I removed the caps on pistons 6, 5, 4, and popped out the pistons,
cly 4 yuck.. rings were packed solid when removed.
