Rocket boosters, or always drive downhill with a stiff wind at your back. But seriously you probably have the 11x20 tires, if you swapped them out for the 14's you will gain some. Mine with the 14's will go 60 comfortably.

It should be going a little faster then 45 mph with the 11.00x20's. Should go around 50-53 mph at 2000 rpm.

^What he said. What RPM's is the engine turning when you're going 45 MPH? If it's 2100, then you're in fourth gear. If it's something like 1600 RPM, then you're in fifth gear and there is a power issue. Have you changed any filters?

It should run 55 easily.

When I got my M929 and first hit the interstate, it ran right up to 60+ mph with no problems. I'm thinking this will be a shorter return trip than I thought. Then I noticed the tach slowly going over 2300 rpm. I realized the tach was dragging so I slowed down to 55~57 mph for the rest of the trip.

NHC250's will turn up to 2300 if you push them, but they're not happy doing that. 1600-1800 is the sweet spot for them really, when it comes to longevitiy and economy.

Mine ran 59mph at 2100 rpm no problem on Interstate with the 1100 duals. I have 395's now and can get 64-65 on Interstate.

Something mechanical in transfer case, tranny, or rear ends. Check temps and fluids. 45mph is not right

Low engine compression due to leaky head gasket(s), piston rings, valve seats or guides, etc. would cause a loss of power which may result in a lower top speed.
