Welcome to the site, and congratulations on your new ride! That's a really nice looking HMMWV.Purchased a 1993 M998 HMMWV the other day. It was love at first sight. Joined Steelsoldiers for the wealth of information and help, I know this place is going to be life saver. View attachment 792794
A Quarterback...The Marines called the usual two man truck the “tall back”, not sure what they would call yours.
In the northeast the supply was rapidly depleted by rustouts.View attachment 804975 Chris, in the States Volkswagen marketed the 181 as the "Thing". This 1974 edition is leading a 4th of July parade. I think VW marketed the car here for about 4 years, almost all were soft tops but I do recall seeing a few hard tops. Due to scarcity, the nice ones bring a good price......about $14,000 give of take.
In Southern California in the 70s, the Thing cost about $1000.00 or more than the VW Beetle, so sales were slow.In the northeast the supply was rapidly depleted by rustouts.
