Two reassuring things.
- After days of reflection I made the visual bumper angle guides.
Two small holes at the ends.
I recovered two brake drum springs and two strands of military antenna.
- Inadvertently, I happened to hit the parking brake when getting out of the truck.

I had the same problem. This was my solution. Good antitheft deterrent also
