My Headlights went out..

So I wasn't driving around at night but recently I noticed my headlights were out when the switch was on and truck was running. I had a friend watch as I jiggled the switch back and forth a little and they went back on.. That worked for a little while but now they are out completely. I assume it's the switch, can it be fixed or do I need a new one?

Get a new one. They are relatively inexpensive.

They can be fixed, most times they are just dirty on the inside. There are some excellent threads on them, just search three lever light switch and you will find what you need. I just had one apart last weekend but my problem seems to be elsewhere as I tried three different switches with the same results.

Where's the ground at the switch located?

The ground should be about 4 feet below the light switch. If it is not, you may have a problem.

I guess what I should have said was to check your connection behind the switch. There's a troubleshooting procedure in T.M. 209-20-2-1, Chapter 25. You can just replace the switch, but I hate replacing stuff just to find out that the problem was somewhere else.

I just noticed last night that my headlights blink when I apply my brakes and I hear a clicking sound in the cab, anybody have a clue as to what that might be?

Sounds like a short somewhere. Like maybe in the brake light switch but that's just a guess.

This all depends on which side of the truck that Gimp lays it over on. Might be about 1 foot off the ground or 9 feet
