My M35 prelube install

I did the plumbing and mounted the pump today. It took me all day. I am wore out! Later, the electronics will be hooked up.

Please see the web page for comments, more pics, and details. There is a better place for the pump for instance (on the heater bracket), and I had some trouble getting the hoses on the fittings, extremely tight!

Hmmm...Patrick are you bypassing the filters purposely or am I misreading your picture?

I have kicked the pump on, but only to prime it, using the battery from my Makita drill.

I am bypassing the filters. I know I should not, but all the dang kits are set up that way. I do intend to add a filter later. I think a small one will do. Or I could rerout things?

I hope tomorrow or Monday to finish it up, and I will post more including an exciting video if possible. Tomrrow may move slowly with the job, as I will be at church for some time and have to be presentable! If it is not too hot in the afternoon I could possibly finish then.

The whole idea with pre-lubing the multi is to fill the filter canisters and oil cooler, a total of about a gallon of oil. If you bypass, there may be a drop in pressure as usual at start-up.
The threads are 3/8 NPT and you should be able to "bring the port out" by using a 3 to 4 inch nipple.

I see that you are using the "push on" type fittings, love them!, just make sure the hose is also "push on" (McMaster has'em).

Is there a check valve in your set? What are the spec on it?

yes, it is in a bit of a hole ... and the steering shaft is in front.

straight out works but a 90* on the end of the nipple in nice. JimK

I think with my sore back, I can't reach in there too well. I had a heck of a time under the dash mounting the wiring and doing the soldering. But I see it is do-able and that is a very nice hose there.

The check valve is 200PSI rated. It's the thing under the tee in the second picture. I put the filter adapter kit on, the one from Builder77. It is so beautiful! I added those details to the web page so please go back for a second look.

Sorry it took a long time to get the video and filter pics up, it's "backup day" and although the system may have 64 bits, it seems to be using all of them and I don't want to raise my priority above that of the backup job.

There is also a video of the preluber building the oil pressure there. 10 seconds to 30PSI. 40PSI max cold. Im am satisfied completely. The engine was nice and quiet from the start, since it was pressed up. There was no fluctuation in oil presure at all. It just went from 30 to 65PSI when started.
