Found a deal of a lifetime on 5/4 red oak rough sawn boards for approx. 30 cents a board foot. Air dried for 20 years. I was able to bring home a 12' x 6.5' trailer load. Almost 1200 board feet! Now I have to figure out where to store it all!
Thats a LOT of projects! Congrats

I got the stack covered with some cheap tarps for now. I ordered real vinyl trucker cargo cover 16' x 20' for a more permanent covering. Should be here Friday.
Putting anything underneath to prevent ground moisture from rising up? What ventilation are you planning on? Or do you have a more permanent structure in mind for storage in your future? That is DEFINITELY a LOT of stacking...........
Gonna bind bundles together like Tim said to prevent warpage? You have quite the supply of oak, that is for sure!! IMPRESSIVE

The wood has been sitting for 20 years. Should be dry enough that it does not need venting. I am not going to cover the ground under the stack. It will only invite water to sit in puddles . For the time being it will have to sit covered. I ordered a trucker vinyl cargo tarp that is 18oz. It should last for years.

I am not going to keep ALL the oak. Just getting as much as i can for the price. I will resell at least half to pay for all I am keeping and the supplies I am using to store it. SO far $150 for the blocks and Unistrut. $230 for the vinyl 16' x 20' tarp.

I was going to take the week off to recover from the yard work, but this wood deal came along and I could not pass it up.
