My new M101A2 - rear leg issue

Another successful recovery from the good folks at the GL lot in Sparta, WI.

Everything seems to be working and in good shape with the exception of the rear leg. It has the outer tube and the threaded rod inside, just no inner tube and foot.

Anybody know where I could find either the part I need or the whole assembly? I checked the classifieds here and ebay but didn't turn anything up.

Looks to be the same as the ones on the M105 series trailers. Could somebody confirm?

Watch Ebay - you should be able to come up with a whole nuther leg, or just the inside. I always worried that the center part could rattle along, and be lost by unscrewing. Finding all thread that size, and making one, is another option.

I am in the same boat as chadande. Lost mine during travel.

Does anyone know the thread size for these? Im thinking of just taking a tube and welding a nut in it. From what i can see thats all that the missing part is.

For you guys still looking, the 105 leg (whole assembly, both inner and outer) is longer. I pulled a 105 leg off of the trailer I cut up for the bobber and went to put it on my 101 and it was to long. I cut it down and used it but the hook that holds the leg up in the stored position sits to low to hook onto the latch and the latch assembly from the 105 frame will not bolt onto the 101 frame. I will check this morning and report back to see if the inner 105 leg will spin into the outer 101 leg.

*edit* Ok here's what I found. The inner leg is longer on the 105 by about 2-3" but otherwise the same. Those of you that lost the inner, did you lose everything, the leg and threaded part? or just the leg but the threaded piece is still inside? The reason I ask is because on the legs I have the inner part of the leg is peened to the threaded part and when you extend it all the way it locks up and will not spin all the way off. To remove the inner part you have to drive out a pin at the top of the leg and the whole inner part comes out, threaded part and all. You can take a 105 inner and just slide it right up into the outer 101 part but it will be a few inches longer than stock.

I went out to take another look and decided to disassemble the thing and the threaded but was still it there tight to the top. I see what you mean about it not being able to spin off the bottom.

Any ideas on how best to permanently attach the nut to the inner tube? It just slides in and out with a little reisistance now.

Mine lost the whole inner assembly, the pin is missing. Fallen or stolen? don't know.
But I have since acquired two M105 support legs that were masquerading as M101 legs.
At least now I know to ask for measurements next time I find one.

I got a scrapped 101A1 with the inner part missing. I unscrewed one from one of my 105s. Something isn't right if it's not supposed to just unscrew. I cleaned and lubed it and it went right into the 101 outer tube with ease, even went far enough in to use on flat ground.

I'd like to find a replacement, too.

Pulled mine apart and found that the nut was still on the threads. I cut a peice of 3/4 pipe and welded it to the nut. Welded on a plate for a foot. Just like new but better because its welded not crimped!

All 3 of the ones I have will not unscrew all the way. But I can imagine that if its just a simple peened "stop" at the end, some soldier or someone else got to that stop then put a pry bar in the foot and turned it past the stop thinking it had more in it, and now that "stop" no longer works.

Mine had a spot weld at the end of the threads to keep the leg from unscrewing. But the tube must have only been crimped onto the nut
