Yep,
Thats on the list. Also rotor supports that attach to the trailer, So the rear blade and tail will be supported.
The list keeps getting longer, but i got pleatly of time....i think...

Looks awesome to me. I think I would consider welding some short pieces of tubing to the trailer to use as a receiver for posts holding a rope. Angle them out and at a good length and you will have a nice way to rope it off that is attached to the trailer that goes all the way around the parameter and basically immobile so you don't get the guys who think they can slide the posts in to get a better look at something like people do at car shows. I think once weapons are attached to the bird the amount of people wanting to climb all over it will triple. Either way that's an awesome piece of history and amazing to see anywhere.

Great job, Kevin and that ship looks great. Good thing you are doing to save and display something that has touched many of our lives.
I have a VN era jeep {M151} and on the best forum for that { Forums for anyone interested in the M151 Jeep • Portal } some members had seen your Huey and posted pics of it at Aberdeen. We all loved it.
Regards the flex sight, that was mounted on the co-pilots side { left} as it was used by him for the M-60s or GE Mini-guns, depending on when and where it served. He could not fly and fire at the same time so the flying was left to the right seat pilot, the aircraft commander, The a/c commander has his own but different sight that was hinged but didn't move. It was used to aim the 2.75 FFAR rockets.
If your ship was a gunship at one point in its flying life, it would have had pylons mounted on both sides under and just aft of the rear door openings. This was hydrolically operated and moved the machine guns or mini guns in sync with the co-pilots moving of the sight.

The last man standing flys a Huey!

I just registered, agreed to the rules, and bam ... some dude bought a huey. Good news is it prob will fly. Bad news, a uh-1/h burns about 623 lbs of fuel per hour in flight and 327 lbs at flight idle. that's 90 gallons an hour. Whoo-hoo. We didn't care when we had a government credit card, but imagine flying two hours (180miles) and whipping out your Visa for $600 of fuel. If we can git'r to hover, she'll fly. I'd fly it. That rotor system has soo much inertia in it you can auto rotate it from 3 feet twice. Chop the throttle at a hover, land, pick-up and land again.

They are obsolete in the inventory now, but we used to joke that when the last Apache, Cobra or Kiowa Warrior was flown to the bone yard, the crew would fly back home in a Huey.

Thanks man!..Told it burns about 1 gal an min. Owell, If you cant play with the big dogs get off the porch!.
I heard the inertia was awsome for AR's...Just refinished the ammo cans for her and base plate that holds the ammo cans. The 4 M60c's and guns mounts arrive next week. Will take some pictures when I get them mounted..Also got some new blade holders mounted on the trailer. Will take some more pics this weekend.. Its been too hot to work on her. Picking up some 600 gals of JetA fuel Friday..Cheaper than Diesel!..Also pulling her with my M923...just installed a nice hitch on her..Getting to repaint the M923 this weekend.(hopefully weather willl work). Getting her ready for the Gilbert PA show..(Red Ball)...She will have 2 Hmmwvs escorting her to the show..! Lotsa neat stuff in the works..Will update this thread whenn i can..
Also looking for the trailer adapter for 24v to 7 pin trailer plug.. I have LEDs hopefully they wont burn out with 24v..
Left a message with a guy on this site who sells a adapter..Hopefully he will respond..

In reference to the Huey, I look at it and have two feelings. The first is that I am smiling ear to ear with pride
that one person that loves it owns it. Secondly for my own saftey sake I am glad its not me that owns it. Why?,
I could care less that all the birds components are "Timed out". That's like saying a diesel with 80 thousand miles
can't be driven. A huey will last for ever. If she'll start and not shake too much coming to a hover, she'll fly ad
keep flying. Good for ya dude. Rockets N Guns ... oh yea. Most fun you can have with your pants on.
