Took my wheel and tire to the shop to get the grommet replace, they got the wheel taken apart in a jiffy, I had just gotten home, got a call apparently the turret valve had gotten hit somehow and bent, no wonder it was leaking. anyway I tried Eriks and a couple other websites, anyone know where I can get one in stock?

It's the tube with the elbow where the grommet is that goes into the rim.

Thanks

Erik's used to have them. I've also seen them on E-bay. I would also recommend replacing the brass nut whenever you replace the grommet as the nut gets chewed up real easy and it needs to be torqued to 45 - 60 Lb-Ft. Erik's has the nuts. Sockets are rounded on the end, which causes them to not get a good grip on the nut. You can make a special tool by grinding the face of a socket flat, to remove the rounded edge. You can also grind the side of the socket to make it thinner so that it fits inside the dimpled area where the hole is.

Unfortunately used to have them is the key phrase here. In any case I've cleaned up the threads a bit on the turret(they were all buggered up), and he does have the nut in stock, so I think I can make do. I ran all over town trying to find some shop with a 5/8 fine die, no dice. Did the best I could digging out the brass stuck in the threads and a file to straighten out the threads enough.

I found a place online that finds and gets hard to find parts. they quoted me $304 for the turret!!!!! I said I'll pass. I can get a used rim, tire and all the ctis stuff for that or close!
