Well the 91 M1038 did not have the bracket you are referring to, that bracket came on the ECV serial number 196901 and above.My compressor is threaded(m12)on the back side, but the thru-hole is smaller. Long story short, I purchased a ‘91 m1038 in pieces & am trying to put Humpty Dumpty back together so I’m not sure if all the components are truly meant for this application.
the R4 compressor uses 3/8 bolts that pass from the rear to the front, you do not use the threads to secure the compressor.It’s m12x1.25 thread. I ended up taking Mogman’s advice & used long m10 bolts & sandwiched it. I think this compressor uses a stud with different sizes on each end.
