Ive searched long and hard trying to find info on this problem on here and across the net.
First up, I'm pretty good when it comes to electrical work, but i'm kinda stumped.
My 1028 has already been converted to 12v, single alternator, and all that stuff.
Alrighty, so, main issue, voltage rests at about 12v and will jump up to between 13-14v but come right back down. Second thing is I can smell something burning, no visual on that though, no smoke, nothing.
Now, the larger wire off the alternator to the 'thingamajig' on the passenger side firewall with several other wires going to it is the only wire I can find that hotter than the rest of them. I'm thinking either the alternator is shot, or the regulator is faulty and causing these issues. But, I dont want to go buying parts to chase down the problem and it be something simple. Any help/ insight would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks,
Brad
