Need some Newbie Info!

Hello All,
Just got a 1989 M998 and love it however I am leaking badly out of the steering shaft on my steering box. Is there any direct replacement in the aftermarket world or should I just send it out for a rebuild? If I decide to rebuild it does anybody have an idea where I can get a rebuild kit? Thanks to you all in advance!

Welcome! Park your rig, read some great threads, and gossip with us a bit.

Search option has literally tons about this. I would avoid rebuilt as these units bend a bit and most rebuilders don't ream and then press in a cylinder to make up the difference. Leads to future failure.

Find an OEM gear...or find a shop to rebuild. That or end up like all,the others who have failed.
