Hey Folks, I'm trying to decide on where to mount my antenna and was wondering where everyone mounted theirs? I think I saw someone mount one on the tool box of an 818 but can't seem to remember who? Please post your pics!!!

Thanks Vinny

Vinny,

I had a deuce come out of service with the mount where the convoy lights are, they used the convoy light bar and took off the convoy light and mounted the sugar scoop to the bar.... Here is a pic of the truck, I will post a better one so you can see the entire mount.

I liked the idea and kept it.

In the TM section, there is a manual for the AN/VRC 3900. That is where the behind the cab mount is listed. Mine is there as well, it is a bit tall, it hits overpasses if not tied down.

Mine came mounted up on the convoy light post and you can see it was left tied town all the time. (spring perm. bent)

I like the fender mount set up.

I just took the complete mount off a M818, and it was mounted behind the cab on a pole. I do not know if the pole was the same one as the light kit one. I got the whole mount, but sadly could not get the radio mount. That will be gotten on the next trip.

This has been covered before on another thread - don't recall the exact title. Do a search for antenna mounts or some such and you should come up with some photos of the larger trucks and various methods of mounting antennas. I know one was mounted on the front bumper, along with other variants.
