New 1009 owner; no turbo bolts

Hello,

So I literally just got my CUCV from California, and I have a problem already. This M1009 has a lot done to it, including a Banks Turbo set-up with exhaust. On my first ride, I noticed a LOT of turbo lag and could smell exhaust in the cab. When I popped the hood, I saw that there is exhaust pouring out of the turbo between the turbo and where it bolts to the exhaust pipe. Five of the six bolts are missing and the gasket is just hanging there. The on remaining bolt is tight, but isn't screwed in completely, which makes me think it might not even be the right bolt.

I guess my question is where can I get the bolts and gasket? Is it ok to drive around like this until I can get it? I am sure it has already been driven around like this for a while. Could this cause any damage to the engine or turbo?

I wouldn't drive it till it's fixed.

Driving it with a known exhaust leak is really playing with your life and others.

Contact Banks Turbo for the bolt size and see if they have any or where to get them. Might want to replace the gasket also.

You need to add your State to your user profille. That is a site requirement

I agree if you have an exhaust leak I wouldn't drive the truck. Even if you drive with the windows open the exhaust fews can make you sick. I also agree contact Banks and see if they can provide you with the bolts and gaskets as needed to fix.

I contacted them and they won't tell me the bolt size so I had to order them and the gasket. The guy said it could cause damage to the turbo if cold air gets inside the turbo when its hot. I doubt that has happened since it still spools up fine, and I am going to park it till the parts come. Thanks guys

Sorry they wouldn't tell you the size. Glad you where able to order some. Sucks waiting for parts but you will be driving it in no time.

The bolts are 5/16-18 id use grade 8 and lots of NEVER SIEZE.

Thanks Ken. That was the right size for the bolts, but I already ordered the ones from Banks. Total with a new Gasket and shipping was 21.50 so It was a cheap fix.
