M1005 6.2L Diesel 84 blazer glo plug question

I am trying to figure out why my glow plug indicator light isn't turning on when I turn the key on. I think I need a new glow plug relay switch, but no auto store has one because there's a 24 volt system in it. Or if I can't get a relay, how can I jerry-rig a direct connect glow plug switch. I'm new at this....need help.
