New guy with new jeep and questions

Hey guys im new to the forum and just got a new jeep and thought someone on here might help me out. I've had quite a few jeeps in my time and just did some trading on this '74 cj5 the other day. It has two plates on the dash, the nomenclature plate stating "U.S. PROPERTY". I've done my research on the VIN but would like to know more about the govt aspect of it. If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

It was probably part of the base motor pool just like the GSA vehicles are now. This was discussed recently in a thread about an international scout,
