All I can suggest is learn all you can about the old stuff, its really VERY interesting to see how it was done back then and how it compares to Now, you can then come to your own educated ideas as far as what is better or worse, it truly is a very great hobby!

I always like to learn about the old equipment. I'd love to get into collecting military trucks (mainly the 1 1/4 chevys), but I have enough project trucks around home that never get any attention(maybe someday I'll have the money to do that stuff). I wouldn't mind getting one of those 1 1/2 trailers that seem to get auction off though.

Gene,
I don't know why all of you guys have to be west river, lol. I'm one of the few East river down in Scotland. Found out about 2 guys up in Brookings who are into MVs. I really would love to do a SS meet in SD or somewhere around, but we seem so spread out.

I agree with the others - nice to see another person in this part of the country - I am just across the border in ND - although like deuceman51, I am eastriver - Welcome!

deuceman51,

I'm in Brookings as well. I agree, let's do a MV meet, no matter how small this summer. I would be great!

Thanks,

There are 6 people that own MVs in the Custer area and one that lives in Blackhawk that I know of. Give us a shout if you need some help with finding a MV. They are around. And so is the old halftrack that has no metal behind the cab area.

maccus, I am looking for a MV to play with. Any help would be GREAT!!!

I really don't care what it is. I like them all.:jumpin:

Good Morning Folks I am in Fargo and would love to drive and meet other LOCAL MV owners, I am a friend of Duceman 51 if that helps at all. I have a 71 M-35 I am restoring, and of course I am East River but willing to drive! Please keep me posted!

Hi Guys,
Just thought I'd throw my 2cents worth in here!! I'm over in Gillette, WY, not that far from Sturgis or Rapid! And like some of you I am also from MN. Richfield to be exact. Grew up about 4 miles from the old Met Stadium (Go Vikes). I bought a M1009 the first of Dec and am trying to figure out how to improve same without losing the MV flavor. I want it to be a reliable daily driver. Let's keep in contact. We don't have many of us out here in the "sticks" and we could bounce some ideas off each other.
