New Post Rollover?

Is it possible to change the way new posts are handled? Currently, when the count of new posts reaches a certain number, they are purged and the count starts again at zero. How about if there was a rolling count of say 30 or 40 new posts. As a new post was entered, one would drop off the bottom. Someone has probably suggested this earlier, but I couldn't find anything searching.

Mind does that now. I think. new post at top old at the bottom next new one to the top oldest gone. In my user CP right now it show 137 new post. I'm asuming thats sence I was last on here this morning.
