Mine looked find. No out side cracking but when I put presure to the tank the fuel ran out everywhere. Tubes, fittings. I was shocked to see so much. Unless you presure the tank you wont find the leaks. They will just suck air but not leak fuel. A real pain in the butt!

Well, I sort of shot from the hip when purchasing this truck. I knew there was a lot of regulation and expense to owning/operating something this big. Just to own it and legally operate it for light personal hauling without any flack from the local DOT cops, it was going to cost me a fortune. I will get one again someday, but right now just isn't a good time on the financial end. The truck has been sold, hopes and dreams have been crushed.

Good heavens, poolmike.
You sound like me.
I finally make the big effort to get an M923 and reality/finances swiftly kicked me upside the head.
Wife lost her job and away it went. :(

Hopefully someday I can own another Deuce. I truly miss my bobber.
As time and money allow, I can tinker with my CJ3A. :)

We are lucky here in Louisiana. We have LIFETIME tags on MVs 25 years old or older. They nail you on the weight for fees but it is only once -then it's free forever after that. Cost $200 plus to register 41,000 lbs.(not including tax) but it is a 1 time fee. I had to fight for it since DMV was reading the rules wrong, but now it's settled. Now anyone in the state can get the same deal. Transfer of registration to another Louisiana resident is only $3.

In Italy the DOT does not make MV's pay more than 45.00 a year. But there are less here than the USA. We also get super low cost insurance but we can not use them for comercial use. When I haul Amour for the museums the police give escort free. No permits and even on sunday. They treat us good.

Well, the local DOT cops make rules up as they go, and I am not known to get along with cops that pull me over to FIND a problem. My better judgement said to sell, simply because I cannot afford the fines. Antique tags are out of the question for me. I planned to use it as a truck. I will have one again some day. It just isn't the right time now. I have since fallen back in love with my M715 and it will have to satisfy my MV cravings.
