Hmm

And my hunch that this will include motorcycles is true, HMM's are listed as restricted on the dmv website, so not only are Harley WLA's banned from regular use so are, cushmans, HD-mt500's, indian's, Kawasaki KLR's and countless other's...............The spandex short goon's need to be run out of wisco.

If they can void out the title or license to your military vehicles, isn't that like a forced forfeiture? IE imminent domain?
You'd think that would constitute a "taking", wouldn't you. Or fraud, since they sold the vehicles to the public on the condition that a person could obtain a title and registration, if they got an SF-97. But it's not likely to go anywhere, unless it goes to court, and then it would likely only occur as a class action suit, since who's going to hire an attorney over the cost of one $3000 deuce? It would take a group.

Essentially, they can do whatever they please, unless someone successfully challenges them.

On a side note: It is now confirmed that WisDOT is sending out renewal notices for deuces previously registered with "Farm" plates. Has anyone applied for a new "Farm" registration recently? If so, what was the outcome?

Well the state has no way to identify if a titled vehicle is Military or former military or just a painted up chevy blazer.. they can speculate or a patrol cop can stop it and check..( with out result)... they will continue to send out renewals till the owner complys and sends in the new papers with pictures... when they see the pictrures it will have then been identified in Wisconsin DOT data base as an Former military vehicle...... farm plates have a 2 year renewal.... in febuary.. thats why they are comming due... collector plates are for life along with hobbiest, and you will not receive a renewal ever on them.... if one were to buy say an old ford econo van(60's) or chevy or an old dodge 4 door from the (40's) a CJ5 jeep from 50's 60' 70's and a miriod of others,,. and paint it green
with white stars.. and tag it .. therer is no coliation between what an officer can see by looking at the tag or registaration and what the DOT has for data.. unless you tell them(dot) its a former military vehicle. Even if its not . they just have no idea... **** think when i was in service.. there were ford Pinto's. comets... WV vanogans.. dodge corenets..K-cars **** Dodge everything... we bailed out chrystler and Lido Anthony "Lee" Iacocca back then.. there were broncos, blazers.. scouts... school busses all kings of chevy stake side trucks.. the list go's on and on and on and on... Just keep driving them how you want put the correct fule in them and insure them.. you wont have a problem.. The DOT has a problem.. with what they created for the cop on the road.. this isnt a easy target like a motorised bar stool or a gocart or golf cart... only way is how its painted ( stars or camo .. us army.). then if its tagged with a n HMV tag.. if its not tagged HMV there is zero way for any one to say other wise.. before Captain obvious jumps in.. this is not an argument to break the law... and im not talking about some things like a Gamma-Goat or GOER or some such vehicle.. easy to spot as former military... If a person or persons had a m715 pickup truck and a 1965 jeep pickup truck both with farm plates.. they will both continue to get renewals every 2 years in febuary... they are both titled as jeep pickup trucks/ maybe stakeside bed .. they can both be painted green or not.... I would bet that if you took the jeep pickup and painted it green with white stars and a bumper /hood numbers and photographed it and sent in for an HMV Plate.. You would receive one for it.
DOT just has no idea and no data base to go off of.. they said so them selfs in the hearings.. whats been created is doomed "Death by a thousand cuts"
