Checked for power on both sides of fuse. After putting in no less than three 'good' fuses from the shop, I decided to pick up a fresh pack of Buss fuses at Autozone while I was having my rebuilt alternator tested. Guess what, they now work! My guess is that I had oxidation buildup on the fuse holder and the constant insertion and wiggling around cleaned it off. As a wise man once said, if it is electrical, clean it.
On a somewhat related note, I decided to clean all battery posts and to replace some cheap cable ends with high quality ones made from 000 welding cable at Richbourgs in Florence, SC. What a difference! I was able to 'find' an additional 2 Volts and now I am getting almost 29VDC across both batteries and at the dash voltmeter.
