Did you check for voltage at the under dash relay? Also what did you replace the relay with?

The purple wire passes thru the firewall at the wiring harness block next to the steering column. Sometime yo need to take the block apart and clean the contacts.

The relay sends the 24v to the starter. The 24v is supplied via the very bottom fuse.

the wiring diagram is in the appendix of the TM 9-2320-289-20 manual. All the manuals are avaiable for free. Just click on the Technical Manual button at the top of the page.

Not trying to start any trouble but one of the rules of this site is that everyone is to "try" to use capital letters and correct punctuation, spelling and grammar.

Reread your post. You say that you have done a 12v conversion. Why? How? What did you change?

With a 12v conversion it makes it much harder for us to help diagnose electrical issues.

Wanted to give some more information. When trying to start turn the key and everything functions normal. Glow plugs cycle and all inside and outside lights work. But no power for the starter.

Do you have a multimeter and know how to use it?

You need to test the underdash starter relay. You are looking for 12v at the red wire and 12v at the purple wire with the key in the start position.

Also did you disconnect the big glow plug resistor pack when you switched to 12v?

Also, test the purple with white tracer wire(under dash relay plug) for 12v when the key is in the start position. That is what triggers the relay.

You can simply splice it to the purple wire and eliminate the relay since you "converted" to 12 volts.

That would mean the relay was not functioning.

Glad you got it working.
