Unfortunately, we are not having the annual rally in College Station, Texas in March 2021.

With that said, the Museum of the American GI is holding their annual Living History Weekend on March 27 and 28. There is more information about the Museum here: Living History Weekend – Museum of the American G.I. (americangimuseum.org)

In the past, our rally was timed to coincide with the Museum's annual event. We would camp across town and convoy to the Museum for the day on Saturday. Although we are not having the rally this year, @texas30cal and @Eracer46 are planning to camp at Lake Bryan the weekend of March 26, 2021. Pending approval from the Museum, everyone camping at Lake Bryan can convoy to the Museum. I'm not able to attend this year, but am happy to help coordinate.

I'll let texas30cal and Eracer46 post more information about camping at Lake Bryan.

Thanks, Mike! We have reserved three campsites at Lake Bryan (www.lake bryan.com) for Friday night March 26. Texas30cal and I are using two, so one is available since Mike cannot go. We plan to convoy to the museum 23 miles away early Sat morning pending Museum approval, and set-up in their dedicated MV corral. Please let us know if you can attend and if you need any help. We live pretty close to College Station.

We are only camping Friday night. Lake Bryan campground can be found online with all the rules and regs, there are full hookup, electric only and primitive sites, reservations online or over the phone.

Tia and I will try to make it. I'll see if Nitrodriver wants to convoy again from the east side of Houston.

What sight numbers do yall have so we can camp close?

We are in # 1 and 2, and we have also reserved #3, which is still open and available under my reservation (“Evans”). They still had a couple
more electricity only, plus more in the full-RV hookup section. I plan to get there early on Friday — maybe by 4 pm, to get settled in before dark, FYI. I am bringing firewood for everyone in our M105......😎

I just reserved spot #5 for Friday.

Do we plan on letting the P.D. know we plan to convoy? The escort was really nice last time.
The Sheriff’s department was not contacted this year. Usually, Lincoln organizes that in December / January of each year in preparation for the March rally.

I do agree we should call them and let them know. If all agree, I will call Bryan/College Station PD tomorrow and share our plans with them. How many trucks and what kind will be rolling? I know what Texas30Cal and I have, but others please let me know. Just a friendly reminder — no ammo allowed.....

I was able to reserve spot #8 on my work computer just now. I wasn't able to do it on my ipad from home yesterday.

I'm taking the M715 camping this weekend with my Trail Life troop. The March camp out every year is the learn to drive a manual transmission event for the young guys. The M715 is perfect for this. Fold the windshield down, have observers in the troop seats, put the truck in low range and as long as they can reach the pedals and or see over the dash. Off they go at 1-3 mph.

Since I pulled the hard top over the weekend, installed the troop seats and all the pioneer tools. I might drive it to Lake Bryan if I get to go that is. We will see about the weather and time.

I'm ready for this weekend. I wont get off till 4pm on Friday. I hope to leave by 5 pm and get there by 8 pm. My wife plans to follow in her handa. We will see how Houston traffic treats us. We should be ok maintenance wise. If something comes up I'll give a shout.

Everything is set for y’all to arrive at the museum Saturday morning between 8:30am and 9am.

TJ - What route are you taking? Since I can’t make it, I’ll be home in Montgomery off Hwy 105 if you need anything. Feel free to give me a shout if needed (either going to the rally or when you are headed home).
