Not another blinking question

Well maybe. I have the blinking problem, can't get the turn signal lights and light in the turn signal switch to all blink when they should if the parking lights are on. But that's another post.

The former owner upgraded to LED turn signals and side marker lights which many owners appeared to have done

It appears that the military upgraded the side marker lights at some point to LEDs if I understand what is in the TMs correctly.

I know the answer is somewhere in the TMs I am learning to dig through.

The question Did the military at some point upgrade the turn signals to LEDs. If they did, was the turn signal flasher box upgraded. I have a box made by Riverside P/N 11613631 which appears to be the same part number as that given in some posts as the part that will solve my problem.

So I guess it was a blinking question......sorry

Thanks

Do they blink when the switch is in the headlight on position?

What kind of LED turn signals did the previous owner install? LED replacement bulbs or complete military style composite light assemblies?

I believe you have the correct flasher unit. Unscrew the connector and make sure the connector is not corroded and that it is not cross threaded (mine was) and seats fully when tightened.

Those seco LEDs look shiny chineseum as the blackout signals look molded over and no seal in the back of the housing and yellow shrink tubing instead of typical metal number tags. So no telling if they are causing the problem.

Take the bulb out of the signal stalk and see if they start flashing.

Also...do your brake lights function properly?

How bout the horn?

If the turns flash with the bulb removed from the signal stalk, you can live with it like that, or replace that bulb with the one that fixes the problem. I forget the part number, I think it's available on amazon.

i will check the connector.

So the problem was the LED bulb in the stalk that came with the truck would very faintly flask once and then nothing. Could not see the flash with the cover on. But all the lights worked as they should (and the horn).

Also, with the bulb out of the stalk things seem to work, turn signals, 4 ways brake lights, headlights. I tried a new LED that was advertised as being for the stalk which did not help and then a new incandescent. These bulbs would flash but then the turn signals would not.

So if I leave a bulb out of the stalk I'm OK. But I don't want to leave the turn signals on by mistake. As you know, the turn signals do not make any noise when flashing.

I appreciate your ideas

Do you know if LED turn signals were put on these trucks as original equipment?

Thanks

I found it. This is the bulb that will fix the problem, at least it did for me and others.
