I have a 70 Deuce and I am trying to figure out how and what to use for an intercom type head sets that well work as hearing protection as well as an intercom. I am open to any and all suggestions, does not have to be military but would be nice.

I always used Peltor Powercoms. These are a headset with a built in FRS radio. Not only are they a great intercom in the truck but you can talk with other FRS radios in chase vehicles or even with ground guides. VIC1 systems work too and can be integrated with radios. Here in S FL they were just too hot to wear most days.

Savvy shopping on Ebay netted me 4 of them for less than $100 ea. Retail on them is ludicrous.

You can get david clark headsets pretty reasonable, and a box with jacks, and input and output connections. Pilots in small aircraft use them. Real easy to find and can be had cheap if the owner is upgrading. Real nice to hook up a jack plug to listen to music or connect your phone. The one I had ran off a 9volt battery. And it would last for the trip to Haspin, IN 14hr by deuce. As long as you weren't having long discussions the whole way...
