No clue but I just looked at my prototype and it has it, so the feature has been there since day 1.

Looks like it lines up with center of differential...Yeah, something for suspension travel..

It seems to be notched for extreme suspension travel...perfect fit for the upper ball joint / a-arm..

That would be extreme travel.. I'm sure the wheel would rip off the fender before that upper arm hit chassis...
