NP208 - which bushing is the right one for the tail housing? TIMKEN 5208 doesn't fit

Hi folks,

I have removed this days the tailhousing from my NP208 to change the rear output shaft seal and bushing.

I have ordered TIMKEN 5208 from rock*uto, but it is so, that the bushing is just too smal, it falls thru the hole :-(

Bushing, what I got has 48mm inner diameter and 50,75mm outer dia and this is just too small. It needs to be at least something with 51,xx mm.

So I need a tipp, where to get the right one?
What part number are you using normally for this job?

Thanx

FWIW I had the exact same problem you did with the timken kit.

But I don’t recall the part number for the correct bushing anymore.

Hey guys,

thank you for the information.

Doesnt found the part number in the 20P manual, but in the 34P (3978765).

Also found here some information:

https://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/chevy/1214290-np241c-tailshaft-bushing.html

It looks like NP 208 and NP241c use the same bushing.

Contacted some stores in US with a result, that they want over 40EUR only for shipping.
But i have found this interesting stuff (which both should have 2.01" outer diameter) in the rockauto store (they have at least payable shipping costs) and ordered it:

Should be there on friday, so lets see :)

Items have been arrived well.
Both have same outer diameter 2.01 and fit very well.
Installed the pa cargo item, because it was machined better, than the ac delco, no sharp edges etc.

Seal taken from the Timken 5208 box.

Thank you all for your help.
