NYC Veterans Day Parade !!

Its coming fast once again, ALL SS Soldiers are invited to attend. The MTA is once again putting a convoy into the city, Any SS members can come from any direction, one does not need to enter by our convoy, But to experience our Police escorted convoy down rt 3 thru the Lincoln tunnel and right to our staging street is something to experience, In this hobby I have been in about maybe close to 10 Police escorts. they each and every one were spectacular , But To enter NYC thru the Lincoln And own the city for those moments is ,,, well as many have said, And we have some high ranking retired State and local police in our club that these guys are the best of the best and man its true !!

I have been on the NYC Vets Council for a few years now and am the street captain for our street, Since we pack our street over the years it just made sense to take the effort for it to be our own.

In the convoy we encourage filming and pics, its amazing with the NYC back drop and then thru the greatest city in the world !!!

Dress warm and have food ,drinks, snacks , There are delis close by . opcorn:


I will give out street information and times again when people send there e mails to come. Be prepared its a long day, But worth every second.

We pull out 8 AM SHARP UNDER ESCORT!!!!! WE CAN NOT WAIT !!!! We can leave trailers in the lot , and we do !!!!! owners of the Diner are AWESOME and PATRIOTIC >> PLEASE SAY THANKS WHEN GOING IN !!!!!

We MUST be at the staging area in NYC by 0830 the latest if anyone is not coming by convoy, Other wise that person or persons will be at the mercy of horrific traffic and may not make it.

there are 20,000 parade participants, NYPD says well over 600,000 people watching in person waving holding patriotic signs !! Pictures of hero's !!! Its amazing to see the attendance of this parade !!! !!! FOX is covering it from Noon on, It will be shown the next Sunday at over 20 other citys around the country, I will send more info about citys and times during next week, please spread this to Vet groups if You can when it is sent, Its worth it for ALL VETS TO SEE THIS AND BE HONORED!!!! for those who want to see SS members and other patriots in this amazing parade also !!. Its known as the Americas parade now fyi if anyone wants to look it up.

It is important how to enter our street, we can not cross 5th avenue after 730, one must go around, the street we are on... Our vehicles are a HUGE DEAL !!! and WELL APPRECIATED !!!! Be safe drive slow and come !!!!

Convoy rules are , Lights on, Stay tight, Escort wants us to own the road " no stragglers !!! We have a perfect record , Never left a Man behind yet In or out ))

If possible have a buddy plan with another truck, A tow bar , a method of a fast extraction off to the end of the route, A chain is fine until we get to the end. If there is a problem , when we are told to turn off by the Police, They will let a stricken vehicle go straight thru and hook up a tow bar.

We are going to leave the street in 3 serials, Anyone living in or close to the city we ask to be the third serial, This helps fill the parade, We are right after all the branches of service. Its a Long day but worth every second !!! I will get on before next weekend again... We get to watch a good portion of the parade right at the start point !!! Thanks guys !!!!! Randy

To ALL who are coming and NOT by the Convoy in, The meeting/staging street is 27th street, ALL must enter 27th by " PARK " Anyone who wants to come please do it !!! its one of those events that must be experienced to be believed !!! Time is IMPORTANT !!!

Please be at the staging street by 0830 the latest !!!! Traffic around the parade will be HORRIFFIC !! I plan on being there. Expect a warm place to hang out. Will have the cargo interior lights, 8ft table, troops seats, and maybe heat if its really cold in the back of my 5 ton! We use all this stuff normally for winter paintball.

Will also be operating on UHF/VHF for any Hams participating or who can't join but want to check in during the parade. Freq to be determined shortly. Might try for a UHF repeater.

Brining a 15k tilt deck trailer into the parade so anyone who wants to be hauled in let me know and we will make it happen. Not sure if tracked vehicles are allowed in the parade but well get you there.

Sorry about the track MVs, Not on the city streets, But they used to allow it. I would think a track vehicle on your trailer would sure be just as good !!!! We have had a half track with us in the past though !!! We usually end up with 30ish MVs in the line up )) Looks like a banner year so far !!!! So for Its look like we have 250th Main support Battalion guys convoying in with us on Bikes and riding in our trucks in the Convoy !! Also G co. Marines will be hitching rides in , also the back of some trucks for the Convoy in , !! We are windshield down all covers off , Riding in the back under escort thru the tunnel is well....FUN !!!! I would be very interested in participating if I can make it but will not have a vehicle as all of mine are in NC. Is there a vehicle someone has that needs a driver I sure would be interested.

Some one mentioned they have 4 vehicles and are bringing 2, unless they find another driver, I will look in my e mails... There are soldiers and Marines that will be riding in the back of at least mine, if you can make it to the street come... the parade ends on 52nd street so you would neeed to know train schedules subway , or park your car past the end of the parade, Hey I would do it, goodluck, I hope more come, We always find a way to squeeze in more trucks, one year we angle parked up on the side walk both sides and filled the middle, We own the block, Its worth it . thanks to ALL who are coming !! Its Veterans that are the WINNERS if WE SHOW UP BIG TIME !!!!!!

What is the preferred route out of the city from the ending point of the parade. I remember in 2009 I got a little lost in some tight areas and wondered where the parade ended and if you knew the best way back to the lincoln tunnel?

We will be handing out copys of street map with the route in color out to the BBQ place we stop at and eat, its just down the street from the tunnel,

This Parade map show all who want to come by a route other than the convoy the correct way to enter our street. I figured the official parade one would tell it best )) Please copy it if need be, We will be handing out copys for the convoy in also, With the names and cells of all or most of drivers so we can all keep in touch if need be. Remember we can not cross the parade routs, we have to go around and hit PARK and then enter 27th street for our staging area. Or Muster area since we are celebrating Marines this year at the Parade

WAY OVER 20,000 participant's this year !!! The NYPD says over 600,000 will be lining the street's, All I can say is its Amazing . Hope as many can come as possible, we will fill the side walk if need be

The parade route is from 26th street to 52nd street end Exactly the same route General Black Jack Pershing led 24,000 WW1 Soldiers / Veterans of the Great war down the very same street the vary same date for the very FIRST VETERANS PARADE !!! !! That is just to cool, I could mention that all day !!! TV broadcasts from 12 noon to 3 pm there is a street fair at 53rd to 56th or so at the end of parade for anyone interested , It may be hard to park around there though, But for the hearty it can be done,

Just an FYI >>> The MTA CONVOY in will be carrying some MARINES that are this years HONORED SERVICE !!! !!!! G Co. will be hitching a ride in and out from the 6 brothers Diner in the Tunnel Rat Convoy !! , They are going to have to March with there Battalion , So we will have to pick them up at the end , Im sure we can do it !!!! This is an amazing event !!!! Thanks Steel soldiers Thanks all who served !!! and are serving !!! And those of us patriots who support them every way we can !!! In sites like this !!! and the MV clubs we all share so much with !!! Thanks to ALL those who are making the effort to make this Parade !!!! It means so much to so many, The waves, The tears from the family members , and those who have served watching this parade, Marching in this parade. This Parade is run by the best of the best, FYI ... They allow Veterans up to the last minute, who may want to March or get a ride for those who need a lift, There have been moments street captains have seen vets all done in there gear just to watch the parade, Go to them and say " Hey do you want to march ? Do you want to but need a ride ! " They rush them a safety form to sign if there's time, and send them on there way !!!! This parade is ALL ABOUT VETS!!! worth every second !!!

Its windy and COLD today We have done Vets day in NYC with weather just like today in the past for those who remember, One year my lips peeled for a full week !!! Windshield down is the BEST way to enter the city !!!
