I was a 19k4 SEPs baby... only got to use them in a combat zone in the Balkins with the CAV. We were on 1114s and plated 998s in the Iraq.

Back on subject....

I went out in my deuce when I got home right around 6. My kid came down with the stomach bug so I was pretty delayed and it was already completely dark out. The guy is pretty old and had already pretty much closed up shop for the night. With finals hitting and my kid's 1 year party this week looks like it will be sat or sunday till I make it out. It is killing me to have it so close and not be able to check it out. More time for me to get all the recovery stuff ready
I guess.

The guy who is uncovering these things here was offered a REO a couple weeks ago (not running) and turned it down. I might become a hoarder soon.

Know what they say about the sickness?

Sooo after a lot of waiting and getting around to it, I went out and saw the truck. It is a ww2 1 and a half ton with a dump bed. It looks a little rough at first but there is no through body rot and it has been pretty well maintained. It was painted red for some contractor in the 50s but it is all pealing off to show unit numbers and white stars on the doors. I may have to start a new thread in the ww2 section being it isn't a deuce or m35 era. :)

Great pics, but your post is missing some details, like...

Is the truck yours now?

Is it still in the guys yard, or has it come to its new home yet?

Did it start and run? (if you haven't tried yet don't forget to do a "first start" video)

This could be the start of a great story! Keep us updated!

Just an update. It isn't mine yet. We are tracking down the owner right now. He moved out of his place so we are trying to get hold of him or his kids. My friend is going to get hold of him today so I will have more info after I stop by tomorrow on the way to the range. I might try and start it there but will most likely pull it home with my m35. I am pretty stoked.

I will defiantly keep you in mind wiggall. I was just down your way today on a tool run. I think the extraction won't be too bad. It is just a couple miles from home and I have the stuff to get it here.
