Oh No!! My trucks are disapearing in the SNOW!!!

Well....we just got hit with an other "Blizzard".....Came out of nowhere, right as I was in the middle of changing a hard to get to hydraulic line on my Bombardier BR400 Snowcat. Than, after freezing my a.. off trying to get it unbolted.... I realized that I needed my forklift to hold up the rear attachement while I changed the hose.
Luckely the 3.9B Cummins in my forklift / howitzer mover started right up and I was able to (after digging out enough of the controls to be able to operate it) drive right out of the snow drift that had entombd it.

That was pretty cool....I never owned a forklift that had 4X4, planetary axles and a DIFF LOCKER!!!! what a difference!!

Anyway....I took the opportunity to take a few pics....hope you guys get a kick out of this....and yes those are some Deuces under the snow! lol

You can let it come south east!!! would love to have enough snow to make a snowball......it snowed for 15 min last year...not even a .005 accumulation!!!!

GA would like it even if it means missing work and people panicing and buying all the bread and milk and closing schools if they think it might snow!!!

Other then the coolness factor of owning your own snowcat, do you have it for a reason or is it kind of like a toy. I really hate to ask that question but Im curiose.

Considering all his other toys not really. I was just wondering if there was a reason to actually having a snowcat. Everyone I know who has one(which is 3 people) one uses his for offroad recoveries on the mountain during the winter, $250 to hook up then $50 per yard. The other runs a sno-mobile race track. One has a house in montana and uses it to get around on his ranch durring winter


I'm expecting that the latter is the case here, but I am just wondering.

Nice Snowcat, Soni! I love the snow pics too. Those rough terrain forklifts sure are handy. The guys at John Winslow's were using a BIG one yesterday with a 6V53 Detroit in it. That sucker screams! It was great for lifting the front of my truck out of the muck to install my tires/wheels.

No problem, that Snowcat is actually part of my buisness! We provide off road transportation: In the summer with military vehicles and in the winter with the Snowcats. We service antenna sites for the cell phone companys an the radio stations. We offer snow removal and do some grooming for cross country skiers and snowmobilers. We are also a member of New Mexico SAR (Search and Rescue) and recover the occasional "immobilized" snowmobile....and of course whatever else gets "stranded" in the middle of nowhere .....you get the drift....lol

Thats funny, I live maybe 90 miles from you and we did not get squat for snow here. Drive 30 miles north into Colorado and they got like 3 feet!!

Keep it all away from me!!!! (except the trucks!)

Well.....I live at 8000 ft. elevation.....that's why we get tons of snow! LOL

These pics were taken in early May 2008!!!! We are clearing the track for the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad.
The mean green military Snowblower is nicknamed "Snozilla" by the local population and is a Oshkosh truck with a Sicard blower.... The truck has a 175 horse Caterpillar engine for propulsion and a 375 Cat just to power the blower.....rated at 3000 tons/hour!
