I usually stick with Wix or Baldwin. I will also use NAPA since they are just a relabeled Wix. However there is an O'Reilly by my house that stocks Wix so I just go with those. I generally stay away from Fram and Purolator.

You stay away from Purolator? You're the first person I've ever heard say that, please ellaborate.

I used to use Fram, because WalMart sold them and they also sold oil by the case. They quit selling it by the case, so I changed filters and read a filter study where Purolator beat out a lot of others. I use regular Purolators on my older vehilces and PureOne filters on the newer ones.

Of course, now that my CUCV has the Cummins in it, I use Fleet Guard :-D

I think the PH13 was longer an had no anti drain valve(possibly no longer in production?). It looks like the PH5 is readily available.

I just put on a Wix 2qt filter. Not sure about the exhaust pipe. But I just rebuilt the engine and need to filter out anything that fell in the engine. But if it does not get too hot I will put another on. Has anoyone used a 2qt filter?
