Got the old girl to run lope is almost gone cleaned her up real good and road tested her to check for any leakage. I have an area around the bottom of the compressor where it looks a gasket between the compressor and the mounting bracket shows a small sign of oil seapage is there an area under the compressor where oil can leak if so how common are the replacement gaskets and how big of an issue is it to change out the gasket or do you just pull clean and RTV ? and would it be easier to do if the Radiator was pulled as I also need to do that to have a couple brackets soldered back tight If so I will hold up until I have new radiator hoses ?
Thanks Jerry

Yeah, you have to pull the radiator to work on the comp. I got a roll of gasket material and made a new one. I don't reccomend rtv as it spooges out and plugs the oil passage. Someone just had a thread about his comp blowing up and sending metal pieces into the oil pan cause of rtv.

You don't NEED to take the radiator out. You can loosen the pulley and get the belt loose enough to take the compressor off of the base. I agree, DO NOT use silicone. Get the proper gasket from Antelope Valley or Memphis. Glad to see you got your beast running. Hole told me you PM'd him.

Here is a link as to why you don't want to block the oil passage.

If you have to remove the radiator anyway, it will make the job much easier. You will need a crows foot for the nuts. Also if you have a single cylinder compressor you may need to "modify" you wrench (grind down) to make it fit.

The gasket is about $6.50 fro Memphis. Or you can make your own from gasket material. I like to use aviation gasket sealer on mine.
