i just read some good information on the 2 1/2 ton part of this page. how long would you have to let a truck run to get it to leak. would you have to run it at road speed to create enough heat or preasure. would that include the 5 ton ,is that the same eng. im still looking for a duece or a 5 ton . im very mechanicly capable to do that job it but do not have any time under my belt as far as these trucks go. what are some of the weak points i should look for when i look at a truck.i would asum most of the seals probly dry out rather than have a problem. or were they just a seal that was not all that good. how would i know if a multi fuel eng has been updated. someone told me it was updated in the fuel area because it had problems. thanks

There will be rebuild stickers or tags on the engine if it has beed overhauled. I guess it would just depend on how bad the leak was as to how long it would need to run for it to show up. If the truck has been in use, there should be evidence of the leaks. if the truck has been sitting, it is not uncommon for the engine to develop a leak, and with continued use, the leak will seal itself. I don't know of any updates to the fuel system, but I am not an expert. The only thing I know of is bypassing the FDC.
