After the first of the year I plan on getting with Jatonka to buy some spin on filters ( maybe some spin on fuel filters if Im lucky ). This will be my first oil change on my deuce. The original owner included a new set of old stlye filters with the deuce when I bought it this fall but I decided to go ahead with the spin on . What type or recommened oil ( S.A.E. 30 ) would everyone use ? And how hard are the spin on oil filters to install ? Thanks

you will want to use a modern 15W-40 Diesel engine oil. You can use a Diesel 30W, but make sure its Diesel rated!!!!! If you plan on driving your deuce in the winter DO NOT use a 30W, use the 15W-40.The spin on filters take about 10 min to install on a bad day.

I use John Deere Plus 50 oil which is 0W - 40W synthetic base. I use it in my Deuce and my two John Deere tractors. I'm very satisfied. You should do a search, there is a lot of information posted on SS on this topic.

15W-40 Rotella triple protection with the spin on filter conversion, run it in our fleet of duces.
