Old SS Forum Archives?

Admin / SS,

I have found a number of links (generally in older posts) that allude to an "archive" of the old SS forums. Example:

I was following something about winching, and came upon a post by Mangus580 that references this link:

http://old.steelsoldiers.com/index.p...fid=file&pid=1

When I click it, the link brings me straight back to the SS main page....

Is this a operator problem, or have the "archives" been lost?

If they are still recoverable, there sounds like a lot of useful information in there.

I guess I had hoped that with a "more active" admin, the old threads may reappear...

The "old" site was corrupted and I don't believe anyone can access it anymore.

I believe what area52 said is correct. The archives were brought back a couple of timews and there were issues on the new site after that.

Certain old stuff was lost.................................. but, not necessarily the links you are referring to.

At one point, the URL's didn't have the name of the thread in them.............. once we changed it, all the links people had posted no longer worked.

The threads are still there........ but now their URL is different.

As far as I know, the old site was shut down due to security risks. Its probably still stored somewhere on the server.
