Has anyone made any modifications to make it easier to open the hood on a M923A2 5-ton?
.
Either the suggestion from Wes to adjust the springs - or put some heavy rocks in your pockets to offset the pull to open the hood :)

Waitaminnit...

Our hoods OPEN?!?!?!?!?

Kidding...

I've found it easier to use the grab handle as opposed to the bracing rod to open the hood. Of course this depends on your height. (I'm 6'1") and weight (I'm 240)

I get pretty close, grab the handle and use my other hand on the bumper to brace/push as I pull in the handle.

Also, several times I had to remember to unlatch the thing! 😅🤣😁

Sometimes I push up on the wheel well just a foot or so and hold it there with a stick. This makes pulling the hood open from the front a lot easier. Most of the time I just grab the handle, put my knees against the bumper and use all my 160 pounds to pull it open. once it starts to move, it opens pretty easy. The first few inches are the hardest.

Ok ok, start with the smart comments below.
