ORIGINAL 2.5 ton axle lock outs

I just purchased a set of axles and the front has a large aluminum plate with 4 levers on it, they say FREE on one side and LOCK on the other..Can anyone tell me about these?? Any help would be great!!!!

Junk. Take them off and send them to me for proper disposal. Sounds like the Cutlas design. I would make sure jones sees them. I'm in the front of the line should they become available. Let me PM Leonard. 2 different approaches to the same theory kf operation.

They look like the duel matic , but they have 4 levers ... not the cutlas style thanks!!!!...Now are they really JUNK?????

In all of my days I've never been able to set my sights on a pair. Outside of Leonard and myself, there can't be but a handful of folks that even knew they existed. They are troublesome to lock in and out and prone to breakage. Junk?? Not really but for the off road crowd they would be better suited with a newer stronger design. 4 levers are for the 4 engaging dogs, Dualmatics for Jeeps only had 2. I am looking forward to seeing some pics of these and I'd still like to announce my place in line for their purchase should you sell them. They would be right at home on my 1953 Deuce wrecker.

yea, im anxious too. i just bought a oversion rear lockout kit for my forward rear drive axle.... so it will be neat to see what these look like! Think im going to do the install tonight. Its always neat seeing the old technology in action! bring on the pics!

here are some pics, and after hearing the comments i would rather get rid of them to one of yall instead of putting them under my jeep..it has a 496ci chevy with 691hp and 54" boggers....i'm sure these would just blow up!!!!
